Military Tailgate and Military Appreciation Day
8 a.m. at Crowder Hall
Kick off Veterans Week with a Military Tailgate. There will be catered breakfast while supplies last. Follow us to the Mizzou vs. Kentucky Military Appreciation Game at 11 a.m. Free tickets are set aside for student veterans; there is a limited number, so first come, first served. Free legal consultations for veterans regarding United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability benefits, discharge upgrades, and VA healthcare. As we continue our tradition of celebrating MU Veterans Week, we would like to invite people to decorate boxes that will be filled with essentials for VA patients as well as the opportunity to create a thank you card to send to a veteran for their service and sacrifice. The cards will be hand delivered by student veterans to patients at Truman VA Hospital and the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, MO. All supplies will be provided. Understanding Veterans, Military, and ROTC at Mizzou. This session provides faculty and staff with an enhanced understanding of veterans’ issues, including Mizzou’s continuing efforts to further enhance its veteran- and military-friendly campus environment. A highlight of the Green Zone session is a panel discussion featuring a diverse group of student veterans. Also included is an overview of veterans and military benefits and culture. Mizzou Joint ROTC Veterans Day Vigil
11 a.m. Nov. 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11, Boone County Courthouse, 705 E. Walnut St.
Mizzou ROTC Units will march to the Boone County Courthouse at 11 a.m. and stand guard to honor those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Hot coffee and cocoa will be provided as well as a support table. For questions contact LtCol Vice at gregory.vice@missouri.edu.
Veterans 101 Panel and Q&A
3-4 p.m. at The Bridge in Townsend Hall, overflow in The Reflect
Join us for a panel in honor of Veteran’s Day. Listen as veterans share their experiences with the military and adapting to civilian life. Learn how their experiences have been used for growth within a diverse community. There will also be a chance to try a Meal-Ready-to-Eat (MRE). Available on Zoom as well at bit.ly/veterans-panel. 11:30 a.m., begins at the Boone County Courthouse, ending the vigil

Also commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the placing of Memorial Student Union’s cornerstone. The ceremony is in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice that MU student veterans gave during WWI.
