MU Veterans Week 2023 Schedule of Activities
Tuesday, November 7
Thank a Veteran
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Main Level, Students Center
Kick off Veterans Week by taking a minute to say thank you to local veterans by making a card. We have all the supplies you need to send a message of thanks and hope to veterans at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital.
Wednesday, November 8
Green Zone Training Program
12 p.m.- 1 p.m. at Arvarh E. Strickland Room S203, Memorial Union
Please join us for Green Zone Training which is designed to provide faculty and staff with an appreciation for both the challenges faced by student veterans as well as discussing the strengths they bring to academia.
Thursday, November 9
MU Joint ROTC Veterans Day Vigil
2 p.m. at Boone County Courthouse, 705 E. Walnut Street
Cadets and midshipmen from the ROTC units at Mizzou will form a detail and perform a vigil near the war memorials at the Boone County Courthouse. There will be a detail marching every hour from Nov 9-10.
Student Veterans Panel
4 p.m.- 5 p.m. at The Bridge, 220 Townsend Hall
Come listen to and participate in a panel discussion where current military and veteran students discuss their service as well as their personal transitions to higher education.
Friday, November 10
Wreath Laying Ceremony
3 p.m. at Memorial Tower, Memorial Union
Come recognize and honor our MU Veterans. Guest speakers will talk about the true meaning of Veterans Day, with the wreath laying ceremony following, honoring those MU Alumni who were lost in service to this nation. Military students from the Army, Air Force, and Navy ROTC will also participate in the ceremony.
MU Veterans Center Open House
4 p.m. in Room N-5, Memorial Union
Immediately following the Wreath Laying Ceremony, guests are welcome to visit the MU Veterans Center for a quick tour and some light refreshments.
Saturday, November 11
Military Appreciation Football Game (Time TBA)

Don’t miss the Military Appreciation Football Game, where we honor and appreciate our military heroes as the Tigers take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
