Favorite Campus Tradition: I have been on the St. Patrick’s Day Board for the second year in a row. Upon talking with other schools, Mizzou has one of the biggest and oldest traditions, when it comes to celebrating Engineers Week. Engineers’ Week is a tradition that started in 1903 and includes 9 days of fun, frolic, and festivity that honors St. Patrick (the patron saint of engineering), celebrates the engineers and is considered the best time of year for engineering students.

Advice you would give to other student veterans: Get to know your resources. I hear tons of people complaining about struggling through classes and not achieving the grade they want. The campus offers free tutoring to students to help you get over that slump. The only reason I say this is, I’ve reached out for tutoring for several classes and it has helped me out greatly.

Favorite Columbia Hangout: After a hard week of exams, reports, and studying, it’s nice to go out with friends downtown to Penguin (aka Piano), and jam out to classics being played.
